MANAGEMENT SCIENCE & INNOVATION (MSI)
FALL 2023 – WINTER 2026 / WEB, BRANDING, & CONSULTING / ADOBE CC, FIGMA, GOOGLE WORKPLACE
As a graphic designer at MSI, I redesigned and maintained the company website, developed the content and brand presence for LinkedIn, and developed and designed marketing materials and internal documents such as newsletters, press releases, and engagement guides. Additionally, I designed engaging visual content for client presentations, reports, and marketing materials for several offices in the federal space.
Website Redesign
Problem: Previous website had confusing structure, no call to action, and inconsistent design.
Solution: Restructure site map and add call to action so users can find important information faster. Apply consistent page design that matches already existing brand guidelines.
Step One: Site Map
While restructuring the site map, I focused on user needs. I asked myself questions like: What is the least amount of clicks I can have a user make to access certain information? What kind of website structure is an average user expecting/comfortable with on a consulting firm’s website? How can I make the user’s experience less frustrating?
Step Two: Low-Fi Wireframes
In building out my low fidelity wireframes, I focused on creating a simple structure with easy access to the most important information for users: main service offerings and mission statement. I added these important sections to the homepage along with proven results and a call to action.
Step Three: High-Fi Wireframes & Build
The main challenge I faced at this step was using the main brand color (bright green!) in a way that didn’t overwhelm the user. I solved this problem by relying on secondary branding colors for text and large blocks of color.
Step Four: Website Build & Interactions
After building out the high fidelity wireframes, I asked myself: where can I add interactions to draw the user’s attention to important information? Below is one example of an animation I added to start as the user scrolls on the homepage.
